For our second collaboration with The Netherlands, we conceived and produced their pavilion using a vast majority of prefabricated and reusable items for them to attend Mobile World Congress 2022 in a more sustainable way.

Case

MWC Barcelona is the world’s largest and most influential event for the connectivity industry. With a focus on mobile and everything to do with IoT, AI, 5G and the Internet of Things, Mobile World Congress Barcelona is where tomorrow’s technology is launched.

Connectivity is the key to our future prosperity and well-being. Having a Pavilion at MWC 2022 is an important event for The Netherlands as it connects the country to the world. It is the opportunity to provide a vibrant meeting point for industry leaders. Focusing on connecting people and businesses, the purpose of their participation was to inspire visitors with a curated selection of Dutch companies, products and services that are leading the charge of future trends. For our second collaboration over a 6-month period, we made sure to fulfil their needs and provided them with an eco-friendly pavilion.

Work process

In a world where we want to create smarter and more sustainable events, Mobile World Congress 2022 was the perfect opportunity for us to explore our own sustainability. We reused some of our pre-built items to give them a second life and therefore considerably reduced our carbon footprint.

The Netherlands Pavilion is a unique space offering great opportunities for companies to present themselves, therefore the Pavilion’s image needs to be up to the standard. We transformed previously built elements such as our flooring platform to make them fit within the new space available. Furthermore, we reused all the signage items that had been stored in the meantime and adapted the prefabricated hanging cubes to the new look & feel of the Pavilion.

We love the feeling of being challenged, and that’s what Mobile World Congress is all about.

We designed and built a pavilion to represent The Netherlands at Smart City Expo World Congress 2021, an international event for the rich exchange of ideas about mobility, infrastructure, environment, future governance, and much more.

Case

Smart City Expo World Congress has been held in Barcelona since 2011, conceived as an international platform to energise the conversation about cities and urban innovation. Its aim has always been to generate new perspectives about the future, both for the cities and the citizens, by allowing the free exchange of ideas between world players.

The Netherlands, with their rich artistic, scientific, and mercantile history, required a pavilion that reflected not only a colourful past, but a bright view of the years to come. We focused on an orange tint, the colour that is synonymous with the country itself, and mixed it with the greens of sustainability, an open floor plan, and hanging cubic lights to display visible slogans. By doing so, we created a centrepiece where the national delegation could not only promote urban projects and local companies, but also establish international connections near and far.

Work process

We wanted to create a stand that was not only original, but that could also express the values that The Netherlands holds dear. By going with a clean-cut image, we managed to present a concept that is rooted in the country’s history, but also with clear views to its future, as can be understood by the use of colour and the openness of the floor plan.

The colour palette was important. Orange, which traditionally represents The Netherlands, and the greens of a clean environment. We combined this with carefully calibrated cubic lights that hang from the ceiling, showcasing graphic slogans and messages that can be read from a distance, and comfortable cream-coloured furniture for the presentation area. A vertical garden and potted plants complement the message we were trying to send. Finally, we created a compact, but self-sustained pavilion that is rich both in colour and meaning.

We designed, conceived and produced a re-usable stand in record speed – all of that within a 1-month period.

For the Davis Cup Finals 2021 that took place in Madrid, we designed and produced in collaboration with Octagon the hospitality lounge for the leading sparkling wine brand, Juvé & Camps.

Case

The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men’s tennis. It is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format – and this time Juvé & Camps was one of the principal partners of this renowned tennis tournament.

As a Davis Cup sponsor, Juvé & Camps decided to opt for a multitude of sponsoring opportunities provided by our partner Octagon such as track presence, a stand in the commercial area for activations, distribution of giveaways and more specifically the right to have a corporate dedicated area in the prestigious “The Club 1900”.

Sales increase and product showcase are some of the objectives Juvé & Camps aims for. In this case, the goal was to have their consumers and VIPs witness a brand experience in a relaxed way. For the brand to be associated with a cocktail moment (and less with the sports event itself), we opted for creating a world of premium sparkling wine.

Juvé & Camps - Davis Cup

Work process

For their dedicated hospitality space, we worked hand in hand together with Octagon, one of the leading sports marketing agencies on the Spanish and global market.

We developed a look & feel concept based on several essential pillars, transmitting the image of a brand that loves tradition, highlighting its premium products, and recreating a winery environment with custom-designed elements.

To reach an authentic atmosphere of a wine cellar, we selected darker rustic furniture with sophisticated touches and combined it with raw materials such as wood and metal. A real eye-catcher that draws the guests’ attention to the star of the show was a necessity. For that, we custom designed and produced an artistic backdrop to showcase the Juvé & Camps sparkling wine and give even more visibility to the brand.

Many creative minds can take part in co-producing an event, which only brings more expertise, flexibility and a broad range of options to the table.

As the main sponsor of the 2021 Davis Cup Finals, Rakuten required a sleek, yet warm and welcoming, ambient space that reminded visitors about the brand’s cultural origins, instead of a conventional corporate space.

Case

The Davis Cup was founded more than 100 years ago, in 1900. Since then, it has become the most important men’s tennis world championship, held in various countries, and attracting many important patrons.

For the 2021 Davis Cup Finals, Octagon selected us as their partner to design and deliver the hospitality lounge for Rakuten, one of Japan’s most prestigious providers of e-commerce solutions.

Rakuten has become one of its country’s biggest names in the electronic and digital marketplace. We decided to design a lounge area that mixed the novelty of the digital age with the warm aesthetics found in traditional Japanese spaces. With networking being important for Rakuten, we made sure to offer a lounge experience where guests could relax and talk business in a soothing environment.

Rakuten - Davis Cup 2021

Work process

Our team worked hand in hand with Octagon, one of the leading sports marketing agencies on the Spanish and global market, to deliver the Rakuten hospitality space.

Since the beginning, our goal was to develop a lounge concept that would work as a showcase for Rakuten’s image as an innovator in the e-business world, mixed with the relaxed ambience found in the cultural origins of the company without falling into any cliché.

Colours have been essential when developing the look & feel concept of the lounge. We took special care in choosing the palette, from soft creams and greys mixed with black, reaching the tone combination that transmits sophistication and tranquillity. With the accent colour being red, we made sure that guests would feel and experience the brand when enjoying the lounge.

We accentuated the desired effect by using various plant and flower species. Furthermore, we focused on structural details conceived as abstract forms of traditional elements inspired by Japanese interior design (for example see-through division walls inspired by shoji sliding doors).

Re-imagining the customer experience is an effective way to create special ambiences that will enhance brand recognition – this is the approach we took.

For the start of the 2021-2022 Season, we dressed and decorated the host venue of the UEFA European Club Football Season Kick-Off event.

Case

The draw of the various European football club competitions is an extremely important kick-off to the European football season with guests, media, clubs and fans eagerly awaiting their group stage opponents. The competition draws which took place were the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League.

The competition draw occured at the Haliç Congress Centre of Istanbul, taking full advantage of the amazing views towards the city and Bosphorus river.

Given the high-profile guests and importance of this kick-off event, our meticulous precision and detail was key to ensuring the event ran flawlessly. Our challenge was to re-create a traditional local market feel and combine it with football decorations, making sure the space looked perfect for the celebration of this first season event.

Work process

After storing our production from the Champions League Finals 2021 edition that got relocated, we managed to re-use the produced items for the UEFA European Club Football Season Kick-Off, also hosted in Istanbul.

Here we re-created a Grand Bazar environment and decorated the dinner area; all of it in a short amount of time given the last-minute constraints. From traditional mosaic lamps to huge custom-made football chandeliers with neon lights, we only used carefully designed, selected, and produced items from our local network of suppliers.

Apart from taking one more step towards more sustainable events with the reutilization of decorative materials, we also generated a positive local economic footprint by providing only locally sourced materials.

Storing and re-using our previous production is what allowed us to quickly respond to UEFA’s requirements.

As a close partner from ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) – the largest AV systems integration show in the world – we ended up running the conference show for their first edition in Barcelona.

Case

As well as providing expert advice, Integrated Systems Europe runs large halls full of innovations catering to the whole spectrum of AV entertainment systems and technologies on offer. With more than 116,000 visitors for each of the past 16 editions, ISE decided to expand the event and moved to a new host city: Barcelona.

ISE is more than an exhibition. It features extensive conference and professional development programmes, main stage theatre, pre-show and at-show conferences, keynote speeches, off-site tech tours and networking opportunities. For this presential and digital edition expectations were high: top AV equipment and faultless stage direction for a coordinated conference show. We had to be creative, think about details and nail down a perfect plan for ISE to become the next big event in Barcelona.

Work process

For this first edition in Barcelona, Integrated Systems Europe, the leading global expo for AV and systems integration, decided to convert to a compact hybrid format in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under these challenging and new circumstances our experienced and professional team turned into the essential partner to take some of the weight off the organisers’ shoulders.

Our innovative approach to event management allowed us to deliver a step change in value by redefining the traditional role of the supplier/contractor into that of a strategic partner – and that can be as creative as you want it to be. Iventions headed the technical direction of the Main Stage, including audiovisual planning and execution, stakeholder coordination, live show calling and floor management. Together with our team of highly experienced professionals and utilising top notch hardware, we ensured a flawless AV production. We also took care of the stage design and furniture lay-out, always offering our proven know-how in personalised event services, organisation, and planning with an unmatched level of dedication to every detail.

By leading the technical direction, design and execution of the Main Stage, we managed to offer our guests a fully hybrid event experience.

We developed and built the Picanol stand for one of the world’s largest industrial textile shows, the combined ITMA ASIA and CITME event in Shanghai.

Case

Taking place every 2 years, ITMA ASIA + CITME is all about showcasing cutting-edge solutions for textile makers. It is the best place for knitwear manufacturers to see the latest trends and upcoming innovations in technology. With more than 100,000 visitors from all sectors of the global textile industry and 170,000 sqm of exhibition space, the show is worth the visit.

For Picanol it is the opportunity to present itself as “the textile specialist”, showcasing efficient manufacturing techniques with their technical support team, and machines running non-stop and at full speed. To meet with their worldwide customers and continue building relationships with them, Picanol needed to put its best foot forward – this is when we stepped in. We developed a stand design focused on the products to captivate and attract numerous visitors.

Work process

For this major textile industry event our aim was to make Picanol’s stand an experience, not just a place for people to walk past. Interaction and product demonstration is key when it comes to showcasing innovation and modernity. Building a trade fair stand from scratch can be intense. Doing it with multiple authorities and regulations can be even more complex. That said, we took the pain out of creating the Picanol stand, saving them the time and effort of such undertaking.

To create this immersive and interactive environment, we focused on a clean and open stand design where the machinery would be the centre of attention. By combining this design with eye-catching and illuminated logos, LED screens and large branded surfaces, we turned this 600 sqm booth into the most visible one. The Picanol stand at ITMA-CITME 2021 was a hit with visitors, and there wasn’t a single problem thanks to our team’s expert fair building experience.

Productivity is the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.

We delivered a spectacular party with a custom-made show for the leading company in data cloud management, VEEAM Software, during VMworld.

Case

VEEAM showcases their presence at the VMworld fair in Barcelona by taking the legendary party for their employees, customers and partners to a next level. For this, VEEAM selected Inventions as their creative agency to develop and create an impactful experience for their 1800 corporate guests. VEEAM’s cloud products and virtual environment solutions were our creative starting points for the show; visualising data-flow and cloud principles in an ecstatic symbiosis of light and sound techniques. The brand message was well wrapped in a complex detailed show and made this party unforgettable.

A custom light and laser show, 5-hours of coordinated projections and video-mapping, top-notch DJ performances, electrifying rock band, choreographed dance shows, high-end catering offer – that is, in a nutshell, what this event was about. Our international team of Project Managers took the time to understand the corporate image of VEEAM and accordingly created a truly immersive and memorable experience.

Work process

For the first time, VEEAM decided to involve a creative agency to manage this well-known party from the beginning. After considering different venues in Barcelona and selecting the perfect fit, we contrasted the look of the industrial and tunnel-look of this pavilion with a modern design and an innovative show. We created an exclusive social evening within a breathtaking VEEAM branded environment.

After many intensely creative weeks, our Creative Team designed a tailor-made projection show composed of 5 hours of content. We used 6 powerful laser projectors to perfectly blend video imagery and used the curved roof of the pavilion as our canvas. A dual sound system easily combined the DJ set moments with the live band concert. On top of this, we created a custom light show with moving spotlights and central lasers, combined with ambient smoke. In the center of the bar and buffet stations – where 32,400 delicious flying food pieces were served during the event – we built high platforms for our mirror-dressed dancers to perform.

When all 1800 invited guests stare with amazement and record the magical show with their mobiles, you know you did it right.
