The challenge
As title sponsor, Rakuten needed a hospitality space that felt premium and personal, not corporate. The goal was to honour Japanese design values while creating a relaxed setting for networking and reflection during the world’s leading men’s team tennis event.
What we did
In collaboration with Octagon, we created a 200 m² hospitality lounge that embodied Rakuten’s balance of innovation and heritage. The design drew on minimalist Japanese principles, using soft creams and greys, black accents and Rakuten red to create warmth and harmony. Abstract references to shōji partitions, curated greenery and tailored AV brought texture and calm to the space. Every detail, from bespoke furniture to lighting, was considered to encourage conversation and ease. Over 11 days, the lounge became a restorative haven where guests could meet, connect and experience Rakuten’s brand in its most human form.
The result
A hospitality experience that reflected Rakuten’s identity with precision and grace. The lounge stood out for its balance of technology and tradition, delivering a setting that felt distinctive, authentic and unmistakably Rakuten.
